BA Service Station

Now called Outter Limits, Evrgreen Coffee & Food, and Restaurant Pietro

At one time, Waskesiu supported three full-service garages. In the 1950s and 60s, this property was the location of a BA Gas Station operated by several different people. One owner of note was Pluke Fournier, well-known for having taught swimming lessons for many years in Waskesiu. Unfortunately, the station burned down in 1968 when a fire was caused by the removal of a gas tank with fumes igniting from the pilot light of a hot water tank.

Since 2003, several businesses have occupied the new building on this site. Most have previous Waskesiu locations like The Sandbox and Outter Limits or grew out of existing Waskesiu businesses like Evrgreen Coffee and Restaurant Pietro. Others may sound familiar as they have branches in or relocated to Saskatoon like the popular clothing store The Sandbox in the City, Traxx in the Sand, and Outter Limits.

Annually in September since 2001, Outter Limits sponsors a Fun Run, a 10 km run and 5 km run or walk. Participants of all ages, some in lively costumes, enjoy the fall colours in the boreal forest. The organizers provide prizes, entertainment, and food for the always well-attended event. Proceeds support local, provincial, and national organizations in the areas of recreation, parks, and nature.
